Vincent Pierce Percussion is a freelance world music performance company and school of percussion. Vincent Pierce Smith, founder and artist at VPP, created the company over fifteen years ago. VPP offers unique services as a freelance drum company, teaching ethnic drum languages and translating them onto other percussion instruments. Vincent Pierce has performed with Pradhanica, a popular world dance and music group from New Jersey, at The Kennedy Center, NJPAC, McCarter Theatre and continues to do so at other prestigious venues. The performances received critical acclaim from reviews by The New York Times.
In 2017, Vincent Pierce was asked to perform Tabla, an Indian Classical drum for the country’s former Vice Present, Joe Biden. The performance was part of a fundraiser for University of Delaware and raised millions of dollars for education and research.
Vincent Pierce composes music for Modern Dance and Yoga and his work has been shown at Mason Gross School of the Arts and Your Move Dance festival. His latest full length release, Turiya, The Transcendent State, received critical acclaim from respected artists and audiences world wide.
